So here is the deal: the more I speak and think in English, the more my Czech gets bastardized. I could come up with excuses and suggest that I willingly bastardize my Czech in order to broaden my linguistic repertoire or to achieve a dazzlingly original idiolect. But that is just not true. The truth is that my brain surprises me with these perfectly non-standard and rubbishy Czech sentences when I least expect it. Subsequently, I look mental and I feel like a fool.

Now, this is OK, I can put up with the occasional embarrassment and I manage to keep the whole thing at bay most of the time. But now the natural forces of my universe fall out of alignment as a new passenger steps on  board. I need to pass a C1 exam either in Spanish or German. I can take my pick. Either way it is going to take some crash revision and either way my Czech is going to get screwed up. Stay tuned! Progress reports and updates on embarrassing moments to follow!
